Red herrings {starter for rocketheir}

Red wouldn’t have believed the boy if he had denied it, so it was best that Silver had outright admitted that it was a PokeDex. He would have thought that the boy must have stolen it. It was sad, but that wasn’t quite wrong. Right now, he had mothering that would lead him to believe that though. It was just another boy with a PokeDex, so why was it bothering him?

Had Oak been disappointed with him? He already knew that he was disappointed with Green, so if it had just been the brown haired boy with a PokeDex, it made sense for the Professor to find a new boy to carry it the PokeDex. But Red was still there. True, he never finished catching the first 150 Pokemon, but that wasn’t that big of a deal, right? He’d gotten info on the Legendary Birds and Mewtwo. Who else could do that? He didn’t like the idea of being replaced. No one bit.

“How in the world did you get your hands on that? I thought there were only two,” Red commented, moving little closer to Silver. He didn’t even think this boy was from Pallet town. Then again, he didn’t pay attention to any of the other kids. He thought they were close to the same name, so he’d at least recognize that red hair, but no. He didn’t know this boy.

Silver was aware that Professor Oak’s greatest achievement was the Pokedex and everyone who was interested in learning about them had heard about it in some way, shape, or form… Hence as to why he had taken it upon himself years ago to steal one from the man to further his plans at the time, but he had long since set things straight with the man and was even allowed to keep it. Under surprising circumstances, he was one of the ‘famed Dexholders’, though no one seemed to know anyone outside of the famous Red and Green of Pallet Town.

Not that he cared. To get too much attention would be unbearable and exasperating for him, surely.

Why this person was so interested in it, he wasn’t sure, but the Exchanger found himself soon tucking the device back into his pocket as the older approached him. While he surely didn’t expect anyone to be stupid enough to take it from him, he’d rather take the fixation of his Pokedex towards himself if the stranger was going to speak to him.

“To my knowledge, there are currently 12 Pokedexes. Three for each region.” As for those he hadn’t been to yet, the redhead wasn’t certain if there were any trainers there that had also been issued Pokedexes yet.
