That was the only thought running through Gold’s (thick) head when he saw a familiar face clinging to the claw of a Honchkrow, just a few feet above him at his two o’clock. In that instant, he made the potentially lethal decision to make a break for it, gracefully bounding over a brick fence with every ounce of muscle and adrenaline in his body and using those same resources to flee the shadow menace.
Though that face delighted him to see, he really didn’t feel like getting his ass kicked. But kicked it would get, as something heavy pushed him onto his stomach and kept him pinned to the ground.
“Urk…” Gold could already feel the lump on his forehead he’d have the next morning. “H-Hey, long time no see, huh? Funny seeing you so far from home…”
months had passed, and no one had seen a hair of the infamous HATCHER of the dexholders. not crystal, not the trainer’s own mother, nor silver… even though he thought that he’d at least be informed of where the older would be going. after years of friendship, the redhead wanted to believe they had a mutual trust for each other.
no, they still did. he wouldn’t allow his trust in his best friend to diminish because of gold’s absence, for this act wasn’t like him at all… something was wrong, which in itself, was far worse than the idea of the two of them no longer being friends.
more than anything, silver wished for gold’s happiness above all else, but there were times when such a thing could not be accomplished alone. but that idiot — that senseless, heroic, reckless idiot felt it would’ve been easier on others to take care of himself alone.

it is with this slight hurt and frustration the heir doesn’t feel remorse for how roughly he pins the raven with a twist of his arm, namesake hues boring a hole into the back of his head as if a gun were pointed there instead. “i’ve been looking for you.” an obvious statement, but there’s an underlying response in his tone: i’ve been worried about you. he allows his emotions to get the better of him for just a moment as his grip tightens on the other’s wrist before he releases his friend and steps back, offering a gloved hand instead to help him up. “why are you avoiding the others? me? don’t lie to me, gold.”
